Baekban Journey is concluding its first season with a special that looks back at the regional meals and guests featured during its seven-year run.
TV Chosun announced that the cultural variety program would end the season because cartoonist and host Huh Young-man needed to prioritize treatment and recovery. The production team said his health came before continuing the schedule.
The final special revisits the program's travels across Korea and the ordinary but distinctive tables that gave the series its identity. It also returns to memorable conversations with the guests who joined Huh on the road.
Huh began his career in 1974 and went on to create works including Sikgaek, Bridal Mask, Tazza and Beat. His long interest in food culture made him a natural guide for a program built around local restaurants and the people behind them.
The retrospective, titled The Baekban We Loved: Seven Delicious Years, was scheduled for an evening broadcast as the first season's farewell.
